Cohesive Technologies Announces the TLX Series HTLC Systems for TurboFlow® and Liquid Chromatography Methods
February 15, 2006 - Cohesive Technologies announced today that it has further expanded its instrument product line to include TLX Series High Turbulence Liquid Chromatography (HTLC) Systems, which enable chromatographers to use TurboFlow and standard liquid chromatography (LC) methods all on one Cohesive instrument for liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis.
The combined capabilities of Cohesive’s TLX System allow chromatographers to perform turbulent flow chromatography, Cohesive’s patented online extraction technology, to eliminate solid phase extraction (SPE), liquid/liquid extraction (LLE) or protein precipitation (PPT), as well as the ability to run existing LC methods all on one system, which is unique to the sample preparation and LC market. This configuration allows users of the system to switch back and forth between online extraction methods and conventional methods simply by selecting the method in Cohesive’s Aria software. Cohesive’s TLX Systems are specifically designed for greater laboratory flexibility to minimize ion suppression, enhance efficiency, and boost throughput without compromising data quality or sensitivity.
The TLX Systems are manufactured in three configurations, depending upon a customer’s throughput needs. The TLX-1, Cohesive’s single channel system, has the ability to run TurboFlow or LC methods. As a two (TLX-2) or four (TLX-4) channel system, using Cohesive’s multiplexing technology, the systems will run TurboFlow and LC methods simultaneously, in any combination. Cohesive’s multiplexed systems are independent, parallel, multi-channel systems that double or quadruple sample analysis, allowing multiple users and methods per mass spectrometer. Cohesive’s multiplexed systems are used to address sample preparation bottlenecks and to increase the number of samples analyzed by one mass spectrometer.
Jeff Zonderman, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, explains, “Adding TLX Systems to our existing product line is a direct result of our focused effort to enhance the range of LC solutions for our customers evolving needs. The unique features of our TLX Systems provide customers with the combined power of turbulent flow chromatography and the ability to run their existing LC methods, making it the most powerful and versatile system in the industry.”
Cohesive Technologies Inc. develops, manufactures, and markets novel online extraction and liquid chromatography systems and chemistries for the drug discovery, development, and clinical marketplace. These products have made Cohesive a leader in developing new technology tools that accelerate high throughput analysis for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical diagnostic, and environmental markets.
